What's in your hand?

Moses was asked this question...

Exodus 4:2-3 (New King James Version) 2 So the LORD said to him, “What is that in your hand?” He said, “A rod.” 3 And He said, “Cast it on the ground.” So he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from it.

So many times we make up excuses to get out of what God wants us to do.  In these couple of chapters in Exodus Moses is trying his best to not have to do what God is asking from him.  How many excuses will we come up with?  Do we say, "God I can't because..."?

I love the Lord's response...He says, "What is that in your hand?"  After all it was only a rod!  Interestingly enough it became a rod that delivered God's people from bondage.  God has a greater purpose for the things we have in our hands and in our possessions.  God can take a meaningless stick and turn it into a tool that will help deliver His people, but first we have to be willing to turn it over to Him.  You see God asked Moses to throw it on the ground.  The stick was just a stick in the hand of Moses, but as soon as it was turned over to God, then He turned it into something special.  As soon as we get out of the way, then God will be able to use us in an extra-ordinary way!

God Bless!
